Talk To Lebanon is recruiting volunteers across Lebanon and from all walks of life to have interesting conversations with people calling from other countries on Sundays.
The aim of Talk To Lebanon is to raise awareness about Lebanon by having people in the country speak directly with callers from around the world.
People will be calling to say hello, to ask about life in Lebanon, and maybe even to practice a little Arabic. You’ll have interesting conversations talking to different people, and you’ll be helping them know more about our beloved country.
The calls are private, safe, and optional:
- Calls are be via the CallThere iPhone app that doesn’t use your phone number or minutes.
- Calls aren’t recorded.
- You can end a call at any time.
- If need be, you can block a caller from reaching you again.
- You see which city each call is coming from and you decide whether to answer it or not.
To “Answer for Lebanon”
- Download CallThere for iOS (there’s no registration or login).
- Allow it to use your location (so it know you are in Lebanon).
- Allow it to send you notifications (so it can ring your phone).
- Leave it running in the background.
- When someone calls Lebanon, CallThere will ring a number of people in Lebanon and the first to pick up is connected with the caller (and it stops ringing the others).
- When you take a call, answer with “Thank you for calling Lebanon” in any language and have a brief conversation with the caller.
- Anytime you don’t want to receive calls, tap on “Do Not Disturb” in CallThere and it won’t ring you.
